Fall
Research Schools
The AACPM publishes a Podiatric Medical College Information Book; you can find a PDF copy here. For a list of podiatry schools, click here. For tips on choosing schools, visit our Selecting Schools page.
Make a list of your activities outside of class: hours, dates, locations, contacts, what you learned, etc.
Identify possible letter writers
Spring
Study for the MCAT

Write personal statement

Request letters of recommendation
Most, but not all podiatry schools require 3 letters of recommendation. We recommend one from a podiatrist and two from science faculty. For tips on how to build relationships with faculty, visit our Letters of Recommendation page.
Summer
Complete the centralized application
Podiatry schools use a centralized application called AACPMAS. The application typically opens in early August. The AACPMAS costs $160 for the first program and then follows a fee schedule for additional schools. The centralized application includes:
- Biographical Information
- Coursework & Transcripts
- Personal Statement
- Work & Volunteer Experiences
- Letters of Recommendation
Complete school-specific supplemental application
Some, but not all, podiatry programs require a secondary application.
Interview
