Coursework

Health professions programs require applicants to complete courses as undergraduates (or post-graduates) that will prepare you for the curriculum they plan to teach you. The goal of prerequisite coursework is to ensure that incoming classes of health professional programs have foundational knowledge and a common vocabulary necessary to begin the curriculum of the health professional program. They consider the learning you demonstrate in prerequisite coursework sufficient evidence that you will likely succeed in their curriculum.

The following are general guidelines for coursework you may need to apply to health professional programs. You may begin course planning with one or more of the following lists of guidelines, but it is critical to be informed by the websites of schools where you want to apply as you finalize your plans. Health professions programs vary in their specific admissions requirements.
