About Mike
Mike is passionate about advising first year students. As Lead for First Year Initiatives, he conducts First Year Fridays, CPHA’s weekly drop-in advising hours exclusively for first year students. He also oversees our pre-health orientation on Canvas, Pre-Health 101, holds frequent group advising workshops, and makes classroom visits to provide pre-health advising to first year students across campus. Mike came to CPHA after working as a recording engineer, property appraiser, historian, and college instructor. He earned his PhD in history in 2013 studying the relationship between climatic and medical ideas in the English Atlantic World. In addition to helping Badgers achieve their professional and life goals, Mike loves to cook, play jazz bass, and visit his favorite city, London.
